This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Perform thorough legal research and analysis of legal authorities, keeping abreast of new case law, legislation, and legal trends.
• Compose, review, and refine legal commentary and practical guidance for the Witkin Library and Rutter Group Practice Guides.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, editorial consistency, and adherence to publishing standards.
• Collaborate with external authors and internal teams to gather insights and facilitate smooth content production.
• Foster content innovation by evaluating and validating AI solutions, including gold data creation and model output assessment.
• Organize and prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines and publishing timelines.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Maintain awareness of the legal market, customer needs, and competitor offerings to ensure content remains relevant.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
• Active membership in the California Bar is essential.
• A minimum of 6 years of legal practice experience in California.
• Extensive knowledge of California legal practice and procedures.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Capability to interpret, analyze, and simplify complex legal materials into clear, concise, and accurate content.
• Outstanding editorial judgment and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new areas of law and critically assess content for accuracy and completeness.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective task prioritization in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Experience in legal publishing as an author or editor is preferred.
• Familiarity with Westlaw and Microsoft Office 365 is preferred.
• Experience with content management systems or similar publishing tools is preferred.
