Legal Ops Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance automated, AI-driven processes for legal e-billing and management of outside counsel.

• Lead the execution of the outside counsel spending strategy, which includes analyzing and comparing law firm billing rates and fee structures.

• Oversee the monthly accrual process and legal vendor onboarding activities in collaboration with FP&A.

• Manage and maintain the Brightflag legal e-billing system while providing training to stakeholders.

• Evaluate data on outside counsel expenditures to generate reports, scorecards, and actionable insights.

• Collaborate with FP&A, Sourcing, and EAA on budgeting, forecasting, and vendor strategies.

• Take charge of the onboarding process for law firms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with over 3 years of experience in outside counsel management within an in-house legal setting, ideally at a high-growth technology firm.

• Experience in managing legal accruals, forecasting inputs, and month-end financial processes alongside FP&A.

• Practical experience with legal e-billing platforms such as Brightflag or similar systems.

• Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including formulas, data manipulation, reconciliation, trackers, and analyses.

• Proven ability to project manage operational initiatives from conception to execution, including process design, tool implementation, and vendor onboarding workflows.

• Familiarity with data tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Looker, or similar for generating reports and dashboards.

• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and enhance workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
