This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Lead the strategy for a clean data architecture and take ownership of the architecture, configuration, and governance of 1Password's Atlassian platform, starting with Jira and Statuspage.
• Engage in the company's Jira Council, a cross-functional governance body that ensures the platform meets organizational needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, IT, and security teams to comprehend their workflows and develop Atlassian platform solutions that align with operational practices.
• Create and enforce governance standards for the Atlassian platform, including project creation policies, workflow standards, naming conventions, field usage, and permission models.
• Develop and maintain Jira automations to minimize manual tasks and enhance data quality across the platform.
• Lead the onboarding process for new teams and programs regarding Atlassian tools. Produce training materials, conduct enablement sessions, and serve as the trusted subject matter expert.
• Manage the relationship with the Atlassian vendor and contribute to shaping the platform roadmap as the suite grows.
• Identify technical debt, configuration discrepancies, and process gaps. Create a backlog, prioritize tasks, and address them systematically.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues on integrations between Atlassian tools and other enterprise systems (e.g., Slack, Identity Providers, CI/CD pipelines, or CRM tools).
• Assess, manage, and audit third-party applications and plugins to ensure platform stability, performance, and security compliance.
• Document configurations, workflows, and decisions to ensure the platform is maintainable by the wider team.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on Jira administration experience in a large-scale enterprise setting.
• Extensive experience managing the Atlassian Cloud Enterprise ecosystem, including knowledge of cloud architecture, product organizations, and sandbox environments.
• Comprehensive expertise in Jira configuration: workflows, issue type schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes, custom fields, screens, and components.
• Demonstrated ability to design and govern Jira at scale, establishing standards for platform usage by teams.
• Strong skills in Jira Automation.
• Solid understanding of Jira REST APIs, webhooks, and basic scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Groovy) for advanced integrations.
• Experience in administering Statuspage.
• Familiarity with Confluence and Jira Service Management is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience aligning Atlassian configurations with corporate compliance and audit standards.
• Experience in evaluating, implementing, and governing third-party marketplace applications (e.g., Scriptrunner, structure tools, advanced reporting).
• Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles.
