Senior Assurance – Blockchain, US Clients

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with leaders and partners in blockchain and digital assets.

• Take charge of the day-to-day execution and delivery of audit and advisory tasks throughout the year.

• Oversee associate-level professionals and assign engagement responsibilities accordingly.

• Communicate and resolve audit issues that arise during engagements, with assistance from the engagement manager.

• Build and sustain client relationships to enhance client satisfaction.

• Research, comprehend, and implement intricate accounting concepts and auditing procedures.

• Prepare financial statements and convey audit findings both verbally and in writing.

• Cultivate, inspire, and mentor associates by offering training, consistent feedback, and career guidance while promoting a team atmosphere.

• Exhibit advanced understanding of U.S. accounting standards (GAAP), regulatory frameworks, and compliance obligations.

• Manage complex assignments involving multi-jurisdictional financial reporting, U.S. tax legislation, and international business practices.

• Provide guidance to clients on U.S. regulatory changes, risk management, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance across various markets.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle the unique challenges of servicing U.S.-based clients, which include increased volume, complexity, and risk exposure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A STRONG PASSION for blockchain and digital assets.

• CPA license is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

• Experience in blockchain and digital assets is ideal, but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with technical accounting issues prevalent in the industry, such as token issuances, exchange/custodial accounting, DeFI, staking, lending, derivatives accounting, and crypto basis tracking.

• At least 3+ years of audit experience is required.

• Previous experience in core assurance services including audit planning, development of audit programs, testing, and preparation of work papers is essential.

• Knowledge of internal accounting controls, control testing, and professional standards and regulations is necessary.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the capability to conduct technical research, are required.

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Understanding of the blockchain and digital assets technology ecosystem, including smart contracts, block explorers, crypto tracking and accounting software, blockchain analysis, and other RegTech tools.
