Senior Associate – Financial Reporting Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with federal financial reporting, the preparation of financial statements, and annual reporting tasks for a federal client.

• Develop financial reporting schedules, supporting workpapers, and footnote documentation for annual financial statements.

• Reconcile outputs from the Financial Statement Data Warehouse (FSDW) with CCC CORE, FMMI, trial balances, and manual financial statements.

• Conduct trial balance integrity checks and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.

• Create supporting schedules for the Balance Sheet, Statement of Net Cost (SNC), Statement of Changes in Net Position (SCNP), Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), Budgetary Activity Report (BAR), and financial statement footnotes.

• Assist with GTAS and SF-133 reconciliations and verify financial reporting submissions.

• Prepare variance analyses and address requests from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) regarding financial data and reporting support.

• Aid in the creation of annual financial reports, management narratives, and necessary disclosures.

• Compile financial statement binder documentation, establish cross references, and create audit support packages.

• Contribute to the development and upkeep of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge transfer documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.

• Over 3 years of experience in federal financial reporting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, workpapers, and audit documentation.

• At least 1 year of experience implementing OMB Circular A-136, FASAB standards, GTAS, Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), SF-133, and other federal financial reporting guidelines.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting, accompanied by strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing financial documentation and variance explanations.
