Senior ASIC Physical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement the entire physical design process for intricate SoC blocks and top-level integration, encompassing synthesis, floorplanning, placement & routing, clock tree synthesis (CTS), static timing analysis (STA), and physical verification.

• Achieve timing closure and optimization across various corners and modes utilizing industry-standard tools.

• Collaborate with front-end, verification, and Design for Test (DFT) teams to ensure a smooth handoff and reliable convergence.

• Partner with external physical design service providers and internal leads to assess deliverables, address issues, and maintain schedule alignment.

• Create and sustain scripts and automation to enhance flow efficiency and consistency.

• Assist in physical sign-off activities including Design Rule Check (DRC)/Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), IR drop, electromigration (EM), and power analysis.

• Support chip-level integration, engineering change orders (ECOs), and tapeout preparation.

• Contribute to the development of methodologies, tool assessments, and flow documentation.

• Provide support for your product throughout production and spaceflight.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 5–10 years of experience in ASIC physical design for complex SoCs.

• Practical experience with industry-standard tools (Synopsys ICC2/Fusion Compiler, Cadence Innovus, or similar).

• Strong comprehension of timing analysis, power optimization, and physical verification processes.

• Experience with hierarchical or flat SoC design methodologies.

• Familiarity with FinFET technology.

• Working knowledge of DFT, UPF/CPF power intent, and ECO implementation.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to collaborate across functions in dynamic environments.
