Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the AI strategy that drives Nectir, including its thought processes, contextual understanding, memory retention, and tool utilization.

• Design and refine prompts, context, retrieval methods, and memory features throughout the product lifecycle.

• Develop rigorous evaluations (golden answers, traces, production monitoring) to detect regressions before they impact users.

• Collaborate with leading model providers to select the most suitable model for each task, optimizing for cost, latency, and quality.

• Create multi-agent patterns and tools that enable us to enhance AI capabilities as our scope expands.

• Rapidly translate new model releases and innovative techniques into tangible product improvements.

• Deliver AI-centric features from inception to deployment when they are ready for integration into the product.

• Work in partnership with the full-stack team to seamlessly embed AI functionalities into the platform.

• Ensure the overall quality of the AI experience that our users encounter.

• Monitor developments in the AI ecosystem and convert them into meaningful enhancements for our product.

• Share insights and elevate the standard of what the team believes is achievable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building with LLMs in production environments, not just during the prototyping phase. You have successfully delivered features relied upon by real users.

• Strong understanding of prompting, context engineering, retrieval methods, evaluation, and the practical aspects of working with cutting-edge models.

• Expertise in TypeScript and solid full-stack engineering principles, as our entire stack operates on TypeScript.

• A rigorous approach to evaluation: you assess AI quality using real data rather than subjective impressions.

• A product-oriented mindset: you design for actual users rather than solely for the model. You can discern when an output is sufficiently polished for release.

• Self-motivated and proactive communication skills, especially in a remote and asynchronous work setting.
