Senior Architectural Draftsperson

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee weekly workflows, prioritize tasks, monitor project progress, and proactively identify and address issues that may impact deadlines.

• Generate precise, high-quality architectural working drawings within specified timelines, from initial custom sketches and concept plans to tender, contract, building approval, DA, and construction documentation.

• Create and manage comprehensive residential drawings, including site plans, earthworks, retaining walls, floor plans, roofs, elevations, sections, schedules, facades, kitchens, bathrooms, slabs, electrical layouts, landscaping, structural elements, stormwater management, 3D models, and other necessary documentation.

• Prepare revised plans and update documentation in accordance with approved variations and changes to the project.

• Collaborate and coordinate with councils, certifiers, planners, engineers, surveyors, and other external consultants to address design requirements and ensure project readiness for construction.

• Oversee building approval procedures, including responding to authority requirements, preparing additional drawings and reports, and assisting with conditions of approval and application-related issues.

• Develop and maintain standard construction details, detail registries, master drawings, facades, and ArchiCAD documentation and library structures.

• Ensure designs are safe, feasible, and compliant with relevant building codes, regulations, and legal stipulations.

• Implement quality assurance processes and checklists to uphold accuracy and consistency in all drafting and design work.

• Review plans and documentation to detect potential issues, rectify discrepancies, and escalate risks to management when necessary.

• Innovate and enhance drafting systems, processes, and production standards in collaboration with the Design and Drafting Manager.

• Assist the CRM team with the creation and navigation of 3D walkthroughs as needed.

• Keep current knowledge of construction practices, materials, building industry trends, and relevant standards through continuous training and professional development.

• Adhere to company values, best-practice procedures, and quality standards while undertaking other duties reasonably expected within the role.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of residential drafting experience in Australia (Queensland strongly preferred).

• Proficient in ArchiCAD or possess strong residential experience in Australia/Queensland with a willingness to learn ArchiCAD (training can be provided for exceptional candidates with the appropriate background).

• Extensive experience in producing architectural working drawings and construction documentation.

• Solid understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and detailing.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify drafting and compliance issues.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote working environment.
