This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary technical authority for the design and execution of large-scale data center facilities.
• Direct CSLA disciplines throughout intricate data center projects, overseeing the process from planning to completion.
• Set and uphold design standards while reviewing deliverables for quality and completeness.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to address challenges and ensure successful delivery.
• Investigate and implement innovative architectural solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Lead the issuance of RFPs, assess proposals, and manage contract execution to ensure compliance with standards.
• Hold the Engineer of Record (EoR) teams accountable for meeting milestones and maintaining quality, providing constructive feedback.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, modifying schedules as necessary to sustain momentum.
• Perform hands-on testing, conduct mock-up reviews, and engage in commissioning activities to confirm system performance.
• Facilitate seamless communication and resolution of issues across teams.
• Licensed Architect with at least 10 years of experience in the design, development, and delivery of large-scale, high-performance, mission-critical data center facilities.
• Proven history of leading CSLA design disciplines on hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects from initial concept through to commissioning and final turnover.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction standards, building regulations, permitting processes, and safety protocols for large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Advanced skills in Revit/BIM, Bluebeam, Autodesk, and Google Suite, with a proven ability to coordinate large-scale CSLA designs within a BIM-based project environment.
• Extensive expertise in structural design utilizing various materials including steel, concrete, and mass timber, along with a thorough understanding of architectural details and building systems relevant to data center settings.
• Significant experience in geotechnical design, structural engineering, landscape architecture, and integrating sustainable practices into the design of mission-critical facilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency with redundancy strategies, fault-tolerant design principles, and high-uptime facility requirements specific to data center environments.
• Familiarity with advanced security systems, physical access control, interior and exterior finishes, and other specialized systems necessary for mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety regulations and their application throughout the architectural design and construction phases.
• In-depth understanding of professional services from conceptual planning and site selection to detailed design, construction administration, and project close-out.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts, technical decisions, and project updates to a variety of audiences including senior leadership, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to enhancing design processes, fostering continuous improvement, and elevating the quality and efficiency of mission-critical project delivery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Productivity Suite applications.
