Senior Architect – Core Protocol & Systems Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish the architecture for high-performance networking systems that encompass protocol stacks, data-plane components, and interactions within distributed systems.

• Drive design decisions related to TCP/IP enhancements, the behavior of the kernel networking stack, and the trade-offs between user-space and kernel-space.

• Design scalable threading models, memory architectures, interrupt-driven systems, and performance-critical pathways.

• Supervise system-level performance engineering, which includes profiling, workload modeling, and scalability evaluations.

• Collaborate with leadership, product teams, and cross-functional engineering groups to shape the long-term roadmap and platform strategy.

• Guide technical leads and senior engineers while promoting architectural best practices.

• Create high-quality design documents, technical strategy papers, and in-depth analysis reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in systems, networking, or kernel-level engineering, with hands-on ownership of architecture for large-scale platforms.

• Forward-thinking with a solid grounding in fundamental concepts.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing both executive and engineering audiences.

• Master-level proficiency in C/C++, kernel namespaces, and systems programming.

• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP architecture, routing and switching protocols, as well as complex packet processing engines.

• Strong expertise in multithreaded architectures, CPU scheduling, memory models, and interrupt design.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting large-scale distributed or high-performance networking systems.

• Solid background in virtualization, cloud networking, and container-based system architectures.
