Senior Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and implement production-ready generative AI and LLM-based solutions within our product offerings.

• Create and develop agentic systems that automate workflows and execute multi-step tasks on the JUPUS platform.

• Construct and manage RAG pipelines that allow users to engage with documents and case files.

• Execute evaluation, testing, and observability for AI systems to guarantee reliability and ongoing enhancement.

• Set best practices for AI development, testing, and deployment across various products.

• Initially participate in AI development as a key technical contributor within a small, agile team where engineers take ownership of problems from start to finish and deploy quickly.

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to integrate AI functionalities into actual product workflows.

• Convert intricate AI concepts into usable product features and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• You must be located in the CET -2/+2 time zone for this position!

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in AI is required.

• Proven experience in deploying AI systems such as RAG pipelines or agentic systems in production environments.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building and deploying generative AI systems in live production.

• Strong background in RAG architectures (embeddings, retrieval, ranking).

• Practical experience in designing and deploying agentic systems or AI agents in production.

• Familiarity with LLM observability and evaluation tools (e.g., LangSmith, Langfuse) and experience in designing evaluation pipelines for LLM systems.

• Proficient programming skills in Python along with solid software engineering practices.

• Experience in designing LLM systems that go beyond simple API integrations, including retrieval pipelines, orchestration logic, and tool/agent workflows.

• Experience implementing AI features in actual product environments, rather than purely research or academic settings.

• Ability to translate contemporary AI techniques into dependable, user-oriented product functionalities.
