Senior Applied AI Engineer, AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create and develop agents that automate genuine fund-operations workflows.

• Take ownership of agents from their prototype stage through to production and ongoing management.

• Integrate agents with various services, data models, and authorization systems.

• Construct evaluation layers that include real-document test cases, anticipated outputs, CI regression suites, human reviews, and success criteria.

• Enhance agent accuracy, latency, and cost efficiency.

• Oversee AI application architecture, which includes orchestration, multi-agent design, tool contracts, memory, RAG, MCP, guardrails, approvals, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Manage production rollouts, incorporating versioning, feature flags, rate limits, provider fallback, EU regional failover, and observability.

• Streamline document parsing and extraction processes within the AI Platform team.

• Develop shared evaluation and observability capabilities for other teams.

• Set up engineering patterns and provide mentorship to engineers across teams.

• Review the MCP offering and deliver it to initial customers within the first 90 days.

• Create shared observability dashboards for AI workloads.

• Publish v1 agent patterns and promote adoption by at least one team outside the AI Platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building production software, including at least one agent or LLM-powered capability that has been taken end-to-end and is still maintained after launch.

• Profound expertise in orchestration and context engineering: tool contracts, memory, RAG, multi-agent design, utilizing Mastra, ai-sdk, LangGraph, or similar technologies.

• Proven experience in integrating agents into a real product along with its authorization model.

• Capability to render non-deterministic systems measurable using real-data test cases, regression suites, human reviews, and relevant benchmarks.

• Background in analyzing traces, diagnosing failure modes, optimizing cost and latency, and managing provider rate limits and fallback solutions.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python.

• A platform-oriented mindset with experience in building for both engineers and end users.

• Experience in fintech, private markets, or another regulated, document-intensive domain is advantageous.

• Experience working under EU data-residency regulations is a plus.

• Must currently reside in Spain or Portugal and possess the legal right to work there.

• Availability to work remotely and travel to Berlin or other locations for quarterly team events.
