This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior technical expert for SMA, providing assistance to customers with technical inquiries through telephone, email, and in-person meetings.
• Evaluate customer and utility interconnection needs and recommend suitable SMA products and services.
• Support customers in the project design phase and assist key and EPC clients.
• Serve as a liaison between the U.S. sales team and the technical team at SMA headquarters in Germany.
• Develop and present internal and external technical training materials and presentations.
• Create sales materials for customer meetings and engagements with new clients.
• Conduct competitor research and provide technical justification to compete against analyzed products and solutions.
• Participate in industry conferences and trade shows as required.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and service teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• A bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience, is essential.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in renewable energy engineering, specifically with PV or battery storage systems and solutions.
• Comprehensive understanding of power electronics, including inverters and transformers.
• Extensive knowledge of power systems design.
• Familiarity with PVSyst or similar PV system modeling tools, applied in actual project work.
• Solid understanding of the U.S. energy sector, including relevant norms, standards, and regulations.
• Knowledge of battery systems and solutions is beneficial.
• Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone within the continental United States.
• Ability to consistently work core business hours aligned with Eastern time.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• No current or future need for employment visa sponsorship.
• NABCEP certification or equivalent industry certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with solar electric installation and system design is preferred.
• Knowledge of the energy sector in Mexico and/or Central America is preferred.
• Willingness to travel periodically, both domestically and internationally, is preferred.
• Proficiency in English is preferred.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Competitive base salary range of $125,000 to $145,000 annually, in addition to bonus eligibility.
