This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.
• Deliver comprehensive technical support to sales teams and clients regarding Altera's product offerings, which includes architectural discussions, performance assessments, and feature clarifications.
• Execute technical presentations, product demonstrations, and hands-on workshops tailored for customers.
• Work closely with clients to grasp system-level requirements and suggest optimal Altera solutions, encompassing device selection, IP integration, and software development processes.
• Support customers with initial design implementations, troubleshoot issues, and offer advice on best practices to meet performance, power, and area objectives.
• Create and deliver technical proposals, competitive evaluations, and ROI justifications to facilitate sales efforts.
• Serve as a technical bridge between clients and Altera's engineering and product development teams.
• Engage in account planning and strategy discussions with the sales team to identify new avenues and expedite design victories.
• Remain informed about Altera's product roadmap, industry developments, and competitive dynamics.
• Travel domestically and, on occasion, internationally to customer locations and company functions as necessary.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a technical capacity, ideally in applications engineering, design engineering, or field applications engineering within the semiconductor sector.
• A solid understanding of FPGA architecture, digital design concepts, and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in HDL languages (VHDL/Verilog).
• Familiarity with FPGA design tools such as Quartus Prime.
• Experience with embedded processors like ARM and Nios II, along with related software development.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, and USB.
• Awareness of memory interfaces such as DDR.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and debugging capabilities.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken, is essential for this position in Japan.
• Full-time employment.
• Possible requirement for domestic and occasional international travel to customer sites and company events.
