This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Take full ownership of the technical administration of D365 Finance & Operations across Development, Testing, UAT, and Production environments.
• Oversee LCS (Lifecycle Services) activities encompassing environment management, monitoring, updates, deployments, hotfixes, and escalations with Microsoft.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of the platform, including monitoring batch framework health, system jobs, and long-running processes.
• Manage security roles, duties, privileges, and users, while enforcing segregation of duties and meeting audit requirements.
• Lead release and cutover management for D365 changes, which includes planning deployments, validating processes, and ensuring rollback readiness.
• Maintain comprehensive platform documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and operational procedures.
• Oversee the D365 document printing architecture, including:
• Configuration of print management
• Management of network printers and document routing
• Support for ISV or third-party print services (e.g., PrintVis, Docentric, Lasernet, or similar)
• Monitor and enhance batch jobs, batch groups, and system queues to maximize operational throughput.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to printing failures, performance problems, and formatting errors.
• Maintain and support assigned business applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and alignment with technical standards.
• Administer application inventories, system documentation, configuration records, and support models.
• Collaborate with IT operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to coordinate incident, problem, change, and release management activities.
• Work alongside integration, architecture, and data teams to design and support APIs, middleware solutions, data exchanges, and system interfaces.
• Act as the technical contact point for software vendors, support providers, and implementation partners.
• Plan, coordinate, and validate application upgrades, patches, configuration changes, licensing activities, and support requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and application enhancements for technical fit, scalability, integration requirements, and supportability.
• Ensure applications adhere to enterprise security standards, access control requirements, data governance policies, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GxP, GDPR).
• Assist with audit processes, risk assessments, control testing, and remediation initiatives related to application environments.
• Coordinate deployment and maintenance activities to reduce operational disruptions and ensure business continuity.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and functional stakeholders to support issue resolution, enhancement delivery, and system improvements.
• Analyze business and technical requirements, translating them into system configurations, integration specifications, and solution designs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, training materials, and user support resources.
• Participate in application lifecycle activities such as configuration management, testing, validation, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate resolution efforts across technical teams and third-party providers.
• Design, develop, and support customizations for D365 F&O using X++ extensions.
• Develop and maintain:
• Custom batch jobs and services
• Forms, tables, data entities, and workflows
• Business events and extensibility points
• Support reporting solutions such as SSRS, Electronic Reporting (ER), and data exports.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues through log analysis, code debugging, and root cause remediation.
• Ensure that all solutions are upgrade-safe, well-documented, and conform to Microsoft best practices.
• Manage and support D365 F&O integrations.
• Design and maintain integrations utilizing:
• D365 F&O Data Entities
• OData and REST APIs
• File-based and event-driven patterns as applicable
• Collaborate with integration and enterprise architecture teams to ensure:
• Standardized interface patterns
• Effective error handling, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation
• Comprehensive end-to-end monitoring and alerting
• Support integrations with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., Accounts Payable, procurement, banking, HR, third-party logistics, tax engines).
• Serve as the technical owner for all D365-related ISVs, overseeing:
• Installation and upgrades
• Compatibility with D365 releases
• Integration touchpoints and security posture
• Manage ISV deployments in accordance with release cycles and conduct regression testing.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with ISV vendors for issue resolution and roadmap planning.
• Ensure ISV solutions are aligned with internal architecture, compliance, and support standards.
• Implement and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for D365 F&O builds, packaging, and deployments.
• Uphold ALM standards such as:
• Branching and Versioning Strategy
• Code reviews and peer validation
• Environment promotion controls
• Support data management processes, including DMF packages, repeatable migrations, and data validation.
• Ensure compliance with audit, SOX, and regulatory requirements through documented controls and evidence.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in a technical role with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is required.
• Strong expertise in the following areas is essential:
• X++ development and D365 F&O extensibility
• PPAC, LCS, environment management, and release processes
• Security roles and segregation of duties
• Microsoft SQL
• X++ and C# development
• Power Platform (Apps, Automate, Dataverse, PowerBI)
• Integration (APIs, Azure services)
• Security and environment management
• DevOps / CI-CD
• Web technologies and integration skills such as XML, REST / OData / SOAP APIs, and Azure integration services
• Strong knowledge of full lifecycle SDLC methods and tools is required.
• Experience in supporting and managing general applications is essential.
• Experience or exposure to Boomi middleware is preferred.
• Experience integrating with boundary applications such as sales and use tax engines, OCR Invoice automation, banking integrations, spend analytics tools, and punch-out catalogs is preferred.
• Experience in a regulated GxP environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills are necessary.
• Experience in implementing or supporting packaged software systems is required.
