Senior Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Establish security criteria for products.

• Actively recognize and mitigate risks through threat modeling and related methodologies.

• Create and execute automated security testing protocols.

• Conduct manual security evaluations, including code assessments.

• Oversee vulnerability response initiatives.

• Assist development teams in creating products that prioritize security from the outset.

• Engage with various architectures and technology stacks.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional and globally distributed engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years in an Application Security position or over 5 years combining development and security roles.

• Demonstrated ability to transform SCA, SAST, and DAST findings into learning opportunities.

• Experience in backend development using Python and TypeScript.

• Skilled in designing both automated and manual unit and end-to-end testing.

• Familiarity with frontend development using at least one JavaScript framework.

• Strong programming abilities across various technology stacks.

• Excellent written communication skills and experience collaborating with distributed, global engineering teams.

• Self-driven, capable of working autonomously, managing priorities, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Inquisitive and adaptable, eager to learn new technologies, architectures, and development methodologies.

• Comfortable working within desktop, web, mobile, monolithic, distributed, and serverless architectures.

• Innovative problem-solver with a proactive attitude towards technical challenges.

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

• Experience in application penetration testing is an advantage.
