Senior Application Scientist

📋 Description

• Configure and facilitate the implementation of Dotmatics Virscidian solutions in intricate laboratory, scientific research, or scientific development settings.

• Take ownership of the implementation lifecycle, from project initiation to go-live.

• Ensure timely delivery of the scope of work and quotation commitments, aligning with the customer's scientific objectives and budget.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, solution architects, product teams, and customers.

• Conduct demonstrations, training sessions, technical support, and contribute to business development when needed.

• Lead discovery activities to pinpoint essential systems for data integration.

• Work alongside Principal Application Scientists and clients to determine the optimal sourcing and integration strategies.

• Offer guidance and best practices for sustainable data sourcing integrations.

• Configure, deploy, and validate application-specific workflows that encompass laboratory automation, orchestration, data capture, and analytics within Virscidian.

• Monitor data flow across databases, servers, and cloud services.

• Identify and implement the most effective data integration architecture for the organization.

• Conduct technical peer reviews and organized user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Train customers on using configured solutions and provide hands-on training to ensure effective adoption and long-term operational success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience deploying Scientific SaaS solutions in the life sciences industry or end-user environments.

• Advanced consulting experience with customers, particularly within the Scientific/Life Science community, showcasing proven SaaS solution implementations.

• In-depth understanding of the transition from manual to semi-automated and fully automated laboratory workflows.

• Expertise in data integration, including planning, coordinating, and leading teams to integrate data from various sources.

• Ability to clearly document key business requirements.

• Strong focus on a data-first architecture and familiarity with data scientist technologies (such as Databricks and Snowflake) and data warehouse/lake technologies that support lab orchestration activities.

• Experience with lab informatics software, constructing queries, web technologies, and knowledge of file transformations like CSV, XML, XLS, XLSX, and XSL, along with robust configuration management skills.

• Extensive user expertise in Oracle (SQL) as an enterprise tool.

• Advanced knowledge in building and deploying APIs.

• Proficient in delivering high-quality presentations and training, including the capability to present systems diagramming, UML (Universal Markup Language), and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagrams).

• Ability to adapt communication style to suit the audience, effectively translating scientific and technical language into layman's terms.
