Senior Application Developer – Industrial Voice AI, Edge Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana.

📋 Description

• Develop applications that are utilized directly on factory floors and in industrial settings.

• Incorporate Cerence SDK and speech technologies into edge devices and operator workflows.

• Facilitate voice-driven maintenance, troubleshooting, quality assurance, safety, and productivity initiatives.

• Provide embedded AI experiences utilizing on-device Small Language Models (SLMs) and Edge AI technologies.

• Design user-friendly experiences aimed at enhancing frontline worker efficiency and operational visibility.

• Create and sustain applications that operate on Android tablets, iOS devices, rugged handhelds, industrial HMIs, operator terminals, and other edge devices.

• Integrate Cerence SDK technologies and develop middleware to enable Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and voice-driven workflows.

• Develop applications that facilitate maintenance, inspection reporting, troubleshooting, safety, quality, warehousing, and field service tasks.

• Create interfaces for operator assistance, machine interactions, digital work instructions, and process monitoring.

• Implement and optimize embedded SLMs and AI functionalities for low-latency, offline-capable experiences.

• Connect applications with MES, ERP, PLM, Digital Twins, and industrial data services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing production-grade embedded or edge applications for Android, iOS, tablets, rugged devices, industrial HMIs, or other connected devices used in operational settings.

• Proficient in developing and deploying applications on Android, iOS, or equivalent embedded device platforms.

• Experience in integrating SDKs, middleware, APIs, and device-level functionalities.

• Practical experience with Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, Voice Assistants, or Conversational AI applications.

• Familiarity with deploying embedded AI, Small Language Models (SLMs), and on-device inference.

• Strong skills in Kotlin, Java, C++, Swift, or similar programming languages.

• Expertise in building connected and offline-capable applications.
