
Senior Appian Plugin Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Revise custom Appian plugins to eliminate filesystem, database, and logging dependencies that are not compatible with Appian Cloud.
• Work together with Appian Developers to address application objects and integrations affected by the migration to the cloud.
• Engage in structured migration governance activities, encompassing technical documentation, status updates, and risk management.
• Create documentation for refactor strategies, compatibility assessments, deployment procedures, and definitions of completion.
• Package and deploy revised plugins across development, testing, and production environments.
• Oversee production cutover preparation, rollback validation planning, and stabilization following migration.
• Evaluate and address configuration or deployment gaps identified during plugin validation.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to plugin functionality, integrations, or environmental discrepancies.
• Implement secure, centralized logging methods in accordance with cloud deployment standards.
• Facilitate regression testing for dependent Appian applications impacted by plugin modifications.
• Over 7 years of professional experience in Java application development.
• More than 3 years of practical experience in developing and maintaining custom Appian plugins.
• Must be a Green Card holder or a US Citizen.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Security clearance is necessary.
• Experience in validating and packaging plugins for deployment across multiple environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java development and plugin architecture within enterprise settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly documenting technical findings and recommendations.
• Background in regulated environments, such as financial services or similar sectors.
• Experience in designing secure integration patterns utilizing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and practices for secure code scanning.
• Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe, or similar) is preferred.
