Senior App & Frontend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain robust ETL/ELT pipelines that transfer data from source systems into Google BigQuery, guaranteeing reliability, scalability, and observability throughout each phase.

• Create and uphold data models and schema standards utilizing best-practice SQL and dimensional modeling principles, emphasizing clarity, reuse, and performance.

• Take ownership of the Google BigQuery environment by optimizing queries, managing costs, enforcing data governance, and ensuring the platform scales in alignment with business growth.

• Develop and maintain Looker explores, LookML models, and dashboards that convert complex datasets into straightforward, actionable business intelligence for non-technical stakeholders.

• Engage with the complete Google Cloud Platform stack, including Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Composer, to design comprehensive data solutions.

• Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and commercial teams to grasp data needs and convert business challenges into scalable technical solutions.

• Advocate for data quality and testing frameworks, implementing monitoring and alerting systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.

• Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and architectural decision records to enable the team to progress swiftly with confidence.

• Guide junior data team members and establish high standards for engineering rigor across the data function.

• Remain updated with advancements in the modern data stack and proactively propose tooling or process enhancements when suitable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in SQL and data modeling, with a strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and performance optimization.

• More than 3 years of experience working with Google BigQuery in a production setting.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Composer).

• A minimum of 3 years in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.

• Over 1 year of experience working with Looker and LookML to produce business-facing dashboards and data products.

• Proven experience leading at least one data project from inception to completion.

• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders regarding data limitations, timelines, and trade-offs.

• Adept at making pragmatic architectural decisions within a cloud-native, modern data stack environment.
