• Develop high-quality animations for characters, creatures, and gameplay that align with the artistic vision of the project.
• Take ownership of intricate animation features and gameplay systems, guiding them from initial concept to final integration in the engine.
• Ensure that the animation style, quality, and consistency adhere to both creative and technical standards.
• Collaborate with the Lead Animator to establish and uphold animation quality benchmarks.
• Contribute to the creation and enhancement of animation pipelines, workflows, and best practices.
• Work closely with Technical Animators to facilitate seamless implementation, state machine logic, and performance optimization.
• Offer clear, constructive feedback during animation reviews to enhance team quality.
• Proactively identify potential animation risks and suggest effective, production-ready solutions.
• Ensure that animations are responsive, refined, and enhance both gameplay feel and player experience.
• Optimize animations to comply with real-time performance criteria.
• Aid in production planning by accurately estimating tasks and delivering assets within deadlines.
• Mentor mid-level and junior animators, promoting growth and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Animator in the gaming industry or on real-time projects.
• Robust portfolio showcasing high-quality character and gameplay animations for released titles.
• Mastery of animation principles, body mechanics, timing, weight, and performance acting.
• Advanced expertise with industry-standard Autodesk animation software (e.g., Maya, MotionBuilder).
• Solid understanding of real-time animation pipelines and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine).
• Familiarity with animation state machines, blend trees, and gameplay animation systems.
• Experience in integrating animations directly into game engines.
• Capability to provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and awareness of production processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in shipping at least one AAA/AA game title. Knowledge of motion capture pipelines, data cleanup, and retargeting. Experience working closely with Technical Animation on rigs, tools, and pipeline optimization. Background in combat systems or complex gameplay mechanics. Experience in optimizing animations for performance in real-time settings. A passion for games and a solid understanding of player experience and gameplay feel.
