This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and take ownership of Android applications for the Digital Twin Platform.
• Create independent scanning applications and Android-native experiences for the Connected Stores initiatives, which include integrations with Food Storm and Caper Cart.
• Establish the architectural direction for Android and set development best practices.
• Improve code quality and engineering excellence across the expanding platform.
• Collaborate with teams from Caper, Inventory Intelligence, and Fulfillment.
• Provide Android solutions that enable real-time shelf intelligence and large-scale in-store data collection.
• Maintain a balance between long-term architecture and the need for rapid shipping and iteration as the roadmap progresses.
• Assist in defining Android engineering practices for the Digital Twin Platform and the wider organization.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Proven history of delivering production-quality Android applications.
• In-depth knowledge of the Android SDK and Jetpack libraries.
• Familiarity with modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Experience in designing and constructing Android applications from scratch.
• Proven ability to make architecture decisions from beginning to end.
• Skilled in working effectively within fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Preferred: experience with enterprise tools, hardware integrations, kiosk applications, or scanning/barcode workflows.
• Preferred: knowledge of Connected Stores technology, retail hardware platforms, or embedded Android environments.
• Preferred: experience with Bluetooth, NFC, camera APIs, or other Android hardware peripheral integrations.
• Preferred: background in data-intensive applications, real-time data pipelines, or inventory/logistics systems.
• Preferred: comfort in contributing to backend services or data engineering.
