Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a structured analytics data layer utilizing AWS Glue, Athena / Presto, and LookML.

• Collaborate with teams in Data Science & Analytics, Product, and Engineering to define, document, and align metrics and data lineage.

• Build and sustain automated data reconciliation and quality assurance checks for essential reports and dashboards.

• Lead inquiries into intricate data anomalies, conduct root cause analyses, and convey findings and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Mentor and provide guidance to members of the data science and analytics team.

• Establish and uphold best practices for data modeling, testing, documentation, and code reviews.

• Occasionally travel for project-related or team meetings in person.


⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in SQL.

• Practical experience in designing data models and orchestrating data pipelines using AWS Glue or equivalent technologies.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to codify, document, and reconcile critical business metrics.

• Demonstrated capability to manage ambiguous projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

• Excellent technical communication and mentorship abilities.

• Desired: Over 5 years of experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.

• Desired: Proficiency in Python, Hive, Presto, Spark, Looker, or Tableau.

• Desired: Experience with dbt tests, CI/CD, and data observability.

• Desired: Experience in fostering data culture and best practices within a fast-paced technology organization.
