This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Enhance the analytics layer from start to finish: Design, create, and sustain core dbt models that accurately reflect the business (e.g., customers, revenue, marketing performance, operations) and ensure they are production-ready. This involves establishing the definitive source of truth for the business operations.

• Define and refine company metrics: Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear and consistent metric definitions, implementing them in Omni to empower teams to self-serve confidently.

• Drive cross-domain initiatives: Execute high-impact analytics engineering projects that encompass multiple domains and teams—facilitating alignment, sequencing tasks, and delivering results.

• Make pragmatic modeling decisions: Balance speed, accuracy, and long-term maintainability; establish scalable patterns as the company expands.

• Enhance data quality and trust: Implement and uphold standards through dbt tests, CI/CD, documentation, and light governance; identify issues early to minimize regressions.

• Collaborate upstream to address root causes: Partner closely with Data Engineering to identify data issues, enhance source/warehouse design, and maintain a performant and reliable warehouse.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as an Analytics Engineer in a dynamic environment.

• Capability to set the direction for analytics engineering (patterns, standards, strategy) and execute tasks hands-on.

• Comprehensive, hands-on dbt production experience, including:

• - Incremental models at scale (we process approximately 1B rows daily).

• - Custom macros.

• - Debugging and optimizing slow or costly models.

• - dbt project architecture and maintainability.

• Strong SQL skills and solid data modeling fundamentals.

• Familiarity with a semantic layer / BI modeling tool (Omni, Looker, or similar).

• Proven track record of defining metrics in collaboration with business stakeholders.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and limited processes.
