This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the dbt project, ensuring that models are efficient, thoroughly tested, and well-documented.
• Design and manage the Snowflake data warehouse along with its ingestion processes.
• Develop core entities and datasets by applying modern data modeling best practices.
• Create and maintain custom Python/Airflow pipelines for integrating third-party APIs into Snowflake.
• Design and manage cross-system reconciliation models to identify discrepancies and safeguard revenue.
• Implement testing and enhance observability for analytics pipelines.
• Uphold CI/CD practices, including automation, linting, testing, code reviews, and approval processes.
• Standardize metric definitions across various tools.
• Investigate and document data incidents, covering everything from root-cause analysis to remediation and stakeholder communication.
• Serve as a data liaison among Engineering, GTM, and Finance teams.
• Facilitate self-service access to reliable insights for stakeholders and promote data literacy.
• Design and maintain Snowflake Cortex semantic views for AI agents and LLM-powered tools.
• Collaborate with AI and product teams on defining semantic layers for internal AI assistants.
• Develop measurement frameworks for AI initiatives, including experiment design and attribution modeling.
• Establish trusted analytics layers, enhance data quality and reliability, reduce time-to-insight, quantify discrepancies, and define success metrics for new projects.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or in a similar role within a SaaS environment.
• Extensive expertise in SQL, dbt, and modern data modeling best practices.
• Proficiency in Python for developing pipelines, API integrations, and automation tasks.
• Experience in modeling Salesforce opportunities, contracts, subscriptions, cases, and field history data.
• Proven experience in building custom ELT pipelines from third-party APIs into a cloud data warehouse.
• Skilled in designing cross-system reconciliation models across various source systems.
• Familiarity with event-based and product usage data sources such as PostHog or Mixpanel.
• Experience linking paid advertising, campaign, and attribution data to product analytics.
• Competence in designing and maintaining governed semantic layers, including dbt Semantic Layer or Snowflake Cortex.
• Comfort with large-scale data systems such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, analysts, and product managers.
• Proven success in utilizing analytics to inform decisions in technical or product-focused settings.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous challenges and design comprehensive solutions.
• Nice to have: Experience with Airflow DAGs, statistics and experiment design, predictive modeling, financial SaaS metrics and billing operations, and people analytics.
