Senior Analytics Consultant – Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead the design and implementation of analytics, reporting, and data visualization solutions for enterprise clients utilizing tools like Power BI.

• Convert business needs into technical solutions and interactive prototypes that adhere to phData methodologies, standards, and best practices.

• Execute project-based consulting engagements, including backlog support and development, ensuring timely delivery within scope and with measurable business value.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize performance or deployment issues across reports, data models, and foundational platforms as necessary.

• Advise on best practices to enhance data models, reports, and overall platform architecture, especially in modern cloud data environments (e.g., Snowflake).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, analytics, and client business stakeholders, to ensure successful client engagements.

• Manage client expectations by leading regular status meetings, providing clear updates, and proactively soliciting feedback through working sessions and demonstrations.

• Offer technical leadership in the usage of Power BI and data preparation tools (e.g., Alteryx, KNIME), advising clients on how to scale and govern their analytics solutions.

• Maintain high quality in deliverables through documentation, validation, and adherence to governance, security, and change management standards.

• Partner with practice and account leaders to identify opportunities for expanding analytics use cases, enhancing delivery patterns, and standardizing reusable approaches.

• Contribute to internal initiatives, such as the development of accelerators, templates, and best-practice playbooks for Power BI, data preparation, and modern BI.

• Share expertise with peers through mentoring, informal coaching, and collaborative problem-solving.

• Represent phData professionally in all interactions, clearly communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in data analytics and data visualization platforms within an enterprise setting.

• Strong skills in data visualization using Power BI, including the creation of interactive reports and dashboards.

• Experience in data preparation utilizing Alteryx or KNIME (or similar tools like Matillion, Dataiku, or Coalesce).

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehouses, data marts, and/or data models (Snowflake preferred).

• Capability to identify and recommend functionalities and solutions that meet and enhance user requirements.

• Experience in recommending and implementing best practices for optimizing data models, reports, and overall analytics platform architecture.

• Proven experience delivering projects for external or internal clients in a professional services, consulting, or similar client-facing environment.

• Demonstrated expertise in data fluency and effectively communicating analytical insights and recommendations to business users.

• Ability to decompose complex problems into structured, actionable steps and drive them to completion.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the facilitation of status meetings and working sessions with clients.

• Solid project management skills with the ability to manage expectations, timelines, and priorities.

• Proven ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.

• Exceptional customer-facing skills, with a history of building trust and long-term relationships.

• Proven ability to take ownership, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a passion for learning and mastering new technologies, techniques, and procedures.
