Senior Analyst – Payroll Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• The role will primarily concentrate on the intersection of Pay Day and Workday Labor allocation.

• Involved in the creation of payroll accounting journals across the entire suite of PeopleSoft 9.2 modules.

• Prepare Excel and Pivot charts for daily operations.

• Process the company's payroll every pay period using PeopleSoft.

• Maintain the payroll processing system and records by collecting, calculating, and entering data into PeopleSoft.

• Calculate employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes.

• Follow payroll policies and procedures while adhering to relevant laws.

• Develop and maintain all pertinent documentation, particularly the Global Data Dictionary.

• Ensure that proper processes and system controls are established and maintained to uphold the integrity of master data, including conducting and reporting on periodic audits.

• Prepare ledger entries that include earnings and deductions.

• Generate payroll reports for managerial review.

• Address payroll inquiries from employees.

• Prepare reports and distribute them to stakeholders as part of the monthly exercise.

• Identify suitable use cases, create, and execute UAT test scripts.

• Support business initiatives and adapt to changes.

• Lead governance calls and meetings with stakeholders.

• Participate in data extraction, conversion, cleanup, and system configuration.

• Coordinate and follow up with Cluster PMOs and service delivery teams to drive action items.

• Assist with new country transitions to the Payday process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a payroll senior or in a similar capacity.

• Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS (e.g., PeopleSoft, Cognos) as well as MS Office, particularly Excel.

• A minimum of 2 years of overall experience, specifically working with PeopleSoft 9.2 for Payroll.

• Operational-level experience in managing payroll processes within PeopleSoft.

• Ideally, experience in at least three of the following finance modules for PeopleSoft: Projects, Labor/Resource allocation, Payroll accounting, and billing.

• Strong communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Capable of troubleshooting issues during UAT and liaising with business users and IT teams to identify and implement solutions.

• Ability to independently conduct training sessions and create training materials, along with strong presentation skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.

• Solid understanding of data flow and system functionality.

• Strong accounting knowledge.

• Preferably, over 3 years of experience in Payroll Accounting and an analytical profile in an MNC.
