📋 Description

• Supervise comprehensive global payroll operations across all entities, ensuring payroll processing is accurate, timely, and compliant.

• Effectively manage both day-to-day and strategic relationships with payroll managed services partners, including adherence to SLAs, KPIs, escalations, and conducting quarterly business reviews.

• Formulate and implement a long-term global payroll strategy that emphasizes scalability, standardization, process excellence, and risk mitigation.

• Create and implement a payroll automation roadmap, which includes maintaining and enhancing existing systems to increase efficiency.

• Direct payroll implementations and support initiatives for global geographic expansion, including setting up new countries, managing EOR, and integrating M&A activities.

• Lead and nurture a high-performing global payroll team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continual improvement.

• Act as an escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries, ensuring timely resolutions and effective communication.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on processes and systems, partnering with the Accounting and Equity Administration teams on payroll accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, equity compensation processing, and financial reporting.

• Work with Treasury to facilitate payroll funding activities, global cash forecasting, and activities related to setting up new countries.

• Collaborate with HR teams on employee lifecycle management, statutory benefits, and other related employee processes.

• Ensure precise payroll administration of complex compensation elements including salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, equity-related payments, leaves, deductions, garnishments, severance, and one-time payments.

• Maintain compliance with all local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations.

• Oversee payroll-related compliance activities, including withholdings, payroll taxes, statutory deposits, multi-state registrations, audits, and government inquiries.

• Manage year-end payroll reporting requirements globally, including W-2s and corresponding international forms, as well as payroll tax filings and annual statements.

• Proactively identify and mitigate payroll-related risks, maintaining strong internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and compliance violations.

• Proven Global Track Record: Over 15 years of progressive payroll leadership experience, with extensive technical expertise in both multi-state US and international payroll environments.

• People Leadership: Proven ability to lead globally dispersed teams of 5 or more employees through significant growth and transitions.

• Quality & Excellence: Strong operational and problem-solving skills with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

• Growth Mindset: A proactive self-starter who excels in fast-paced environments, capable of managing multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.

• Technical Credentialing: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or an equivalent global certification.

• Global Expertise: Highly skilled in interpreting and researching local and international regulations. Strong foundational knowledge of statutory deductions, tax rates, social security obligations, and benefits regulations in EMEA/APAC/North America.

• Tech Stack: Proficient in UKG and CloudPay, with familiarity in other tech solutions like Smartsheets, Google Sheets, and AI-enabled tools.

• Public Company Experience: Expertise in managing payroll complexities associated with public company equity (RSUs and ESPP) and a solid understanding of SOX control requirements.
