This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute semi-monthly payroll for staff in alignment with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Assess and authenticate timesheets, attendance logs, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related information.
• Manage employee payroll files, including new hires, separations, changes in pay rates, deductions, and direct deposit details.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax guidelines, and reporting responsibilities.
• Compute and administer payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, tax levies, and other special payments or deductions.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and proactively pinpoint and address calculation, processing, and compliance challenges.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare and disseminate payroll reports for management, Finance, and Human Resources.
• Coordinate payroll tax submissions and aid in annual reporting obligations, including Forms W-2 and other regulatory documents.
• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, deductions, benefits, and timekeeping matters.
• Support payroll audits and provide necessary documentation to both internal and external auditors as required.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance payroll processes, controls, and system efficiencies.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding employee compensation and personal data.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of payroll processing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, payroll taxes, and compliance standards.
• Experience in processing payroll adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and other payroll exceptions.
• Capability to identify payroll discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and communication capabilities.
• Experience in processing payroll within a professional services or consulting context (preferred).
• Familiarity with Workday Payroll and Time Tracking (preferred).
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing (preferred).
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of payroll accounting and general ledger reconciliations (preferred).
