This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Oversee month-end closing procedures, which encompass journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis targeting Freight, Marketing, Selling, Product Development, DTC, and G&A expenses.
• Guarantee precise and prompt reporting of expense-related components in financial statements in alignment with corporate closing timelines.
• Assist in the final review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting outputs.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams on quarterly and annual SEC filings.
• Prepare documentation to support audits, including walkthroughs and testing support.
• Serve as the expense accounting liaison for both internal and external audits.
• Detect control deficiencies and process inefficiencies, driving remediation and ongoing enhancement.
• Engage in system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist in testing for accounting-related projects, system modifications, and new processes.
• Promote process efficiency, data validation, and financial insights utilizing data analytics tools or emerging technologies like AI.
• Work in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, FP&A, Legal, and IT on initiatives that impact expenses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in a multi-entity or publicly traded setting.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in significantly contributing to month-end closings, internal control compliance, and audit support.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and convey complex accounting issues to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on precision.
• Ability to review and critically assess financial data.
• Capacity to succeed in a dynamic, matrixed organization.
• Proficient in managing multiple priorities and adhering to deadlines.
• Preferred: Experience in consumer, retail, apparel, footwear, or multi-brand sectors.
• Preferred: Familiarity with data analytics tools or emerging technologies.
• Preferred: Experience with SAP.
• Preferred: Experience with BPC.
