This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of essential balance sheet accounts, including accruals, during monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Review and authorize journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation created by accounting personnel.
• Prepare journal entries along with supporting schedules for key accruals and other accounts.
• Oversee payment processes for healthcare providers, members, and vendors.
• Lead the reconciliation processes for balance sheets and address any reconciling items.
• Manage intercompany accounting activities while reconciling and eliminating balances.
• Establish, uphold, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members; review their work and provide coaching and performance evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, HIPAA regulations, and applicable federal, state, local, and Puerto Rican laws.
• Monitor the integrity of the ERP system and assist with process automation and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute to strategic projects, system implementations, and other finance-related initiatives as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• A minimum of 5–8 years of experience, including roles in both public and corporate accounting sectors.
• Familiarity with ERP and other accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
• Proven ownership of the month-end closing process, encompassing full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including proficiency with pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and handle large volumes of data.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong skills in problem identification and resolution, focusing on root causes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High integrity, a positive can-do attitude, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to comply with GAAP, company policies, HIPAA regulations, and applicable federal, state, local, and Puerto Rican laws.
