This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.
• Assist in facilitating enterprise-wide Data Governance program activities and collaborate on strategic initiatives related to data governance, data quality, and metadata.
• Support the Data Governance Council and Data Governance Committee by ensuring the execution of follow-up tasks from meetings and providing education and assistance for data governance throughout the organization.
• Responsible for analyzing, developing, and building an Enterprise Data Catalog while also establishing related data lineage to support privacy, security, legal, and audit initiatives.
• Design and propose opportunities for improving data quality.
• Collaborate with the business to create and publish KPIs related to data quality and integrity to ensure accessibility across all business areas.
• Act as the primary contact and liaison between business Data Domain Owners, Data Stewards, and IT.
• Work with Domain Owners to establish, maintain, and disseminate definitions of data elements utilized by Analytics in conjunction with Domain Owners across the organization.
• Lead analysis and remediation efforts for complex multi-domain data issues as identified by the business and the Data Governance Committee.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• BA/BS degree in business, economics, computer science, information management systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related combination of education and experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: data management, data governance, data quality, or data analysis is preferred.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlikview/QlikSense, SAS, Power BI, or other data visualization software is preferred.
• Familiarity with data querying tools such as SQL, Python, or R is preferred.
• Prior experience with data catalog tools like Alation or Collibra is preferred.
• Advanced ability to interact with various database and file storage systems (e.g., Oracle, NoSQL).
• Experience in AWS/GCP cloud environments is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and data visualization software like Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
