This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Establish and maintain communication with facilities to guarantee the timely and accurate collection of patients' insurance coverage details.
• Input insurance information into the billing system.
• Confirm patient insurance with payors, including eligibility and benefits concerning outpatient kidney dialysis.
• Accurately update Patient Registration and associated systems.
• Collaborate with Patient Referral Coordinators to gather necessary documentation for patient registration.
• Work alongside facilities and the Insurance Management Team to address incomplete registrations.
• Analyze registration denials and identify root causes.
• Correct patient account discrepancies leading to registration denials.
• Assist in recognizing process improvements to avert failed registrations.
• Establish Coordination of Benefits and keep patient account information current.
• Follow up to confirm insurance modifications and reset lines of coverage.
• Submit internal requests, including RCUs, SMARTFORMS, PCS Inquiries, and SPA Requests, to ensure accurate and timely claims submission.
• Complete ancillary reports and assigned projects within designated timeframes.
• Provide support to Patient Account Representatives and other ROPS team members.
• Uphold the confidentiality of company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies.
• Participate in team meetings, phone conferences, and training sessions as necessary.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare reimbursement is preferred.
• Experience with admissions, billing, and collections is preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance rules, regulations, and Coordination of Benefits for federal, state, and managed care payors across multiple states is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies.
• Consistent, regular, and punctual attendance is expected as scheduled.
• Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice as required.
