This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead and manage small to medium-scale, cross-functional projects, which include the development of project plans, timelines, and resource coordination.
• Evaluate clinical and business requirements to implement solutions that adhere to best practices.
• Design, build, configure, and optimize Epic Ambulatory workflows to enhance operational efficiency (SmartTools, orders, navigators, templates).
• Produce and document detailed system requirements, functional specifications, and change requests.
• Perform impact analysis for system upgrades, new releases, and regulatory updates; evaluate workflow implications and execute necessary changes.
• Monitor and assess system performance to ensure optimal functionality and data integrity.
• Create and uphold comprehensive documentation that includes workflow diagrams, enhancement documentation, test scripts, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Conduct system testing, identify defects, and oversee remediation until resolution.
• Recognize project and application risks; maintain issue logs with clear ownership, mitigation strategies, and documented closure.
• Act as a liaison between operational stakeholders, IT teams, and software vendors to guarantee alignment between technology and business processes.
• Clearly communicate application changes, enhancements, and best practices to affected teams.
• Provide advanced analytical support and serve as a resource for end users to enhance system utilization and performance.
• Assist in the training, mentoring, and development of junior analysts.
• Develop and communicate project timelines for service requests and assigned initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
• An Associate’s degree with six or more years of directly relevant experience may be considered in place of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Active Epic certification in Ambulatory is required.
• A minimum of 5+ years of Systems Analyst experience, showcasing progressive responsibility in Epic Ambulatory build and optimization.
• A minimum of 5+ years of Information Technology experience, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage moderate to complex projects independently.
• Advanced expertise in Epic Ambulatory build and configuration.
• Strong comprehension of ambulatory clinical workflows.
• Proficiency in analytical problem-solving and systems thinking.
• Clear and confident communication with stakeholders.
• Discipline in documentation and rigor in testing.
• Capability to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
