
Senior Algorithm Engineer β Sensing Algorithms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Oversee the creation of sophisticated algorithms that enhance next-generation glucose sensing technologies.
β’ Develop models that are physics-based, mechanistic, and data-driven to analyze sensor behavior and enhance measurement accuracy.
β’ Design and execute algorithms for signal processing, estimation, calibration, detection, and predictive analysis.
β’ Utilize statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analytics to derive insights from a variety of datasets including bench, preclinical, clinical, and real-world data.
β’ Lead clinical performance evaluations and the advancement of algorithms in partnership with sensor, systems, hardware, firmware, clinical, and product teams.
β’ Assess algorithm efficacy through simulation, modeling, and experimental analysis.
β’ Offer technical expertise regarding algorithm architecture, design trade-offs, verification methods, and implementation strategies.
β’ Recognize opportunities to enhance overall system efficiency and resource utilization.
β’ Assist in transferring algorithm designs to firmware, verification, and validation teams.
β’ PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biophysics, Statistics, or a related discipline with 2 years of industry experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
β’ Advanced proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or comparable technical computing environments.
β’ Extensive knowledge in statistical estimation, signal processing, optimization, and mathematical modeling.
β’ Strong grasp of machine learning methodologies and practical model development.
β’ Proven experience in developing algorithms for sensing technologies, measurement systems, medical devices, or associated fields.
β’ Experience in analyzing large and intricate datasets with multiple signals and dependencies.
β’ Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
β’ Capability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced technical settings.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with biosensors, physiological sensing, wearable systems, or analytical instrumentation.
β’ Preferred: Experience with calibration, estimation, filtering, or measurement system algorithms.
β’ Preferred: Background in transitioning algorithms from research to commercial products.
β’ Preferred: Strong software engineering practices in data-driven application development.
β’ Preferred: Understanding of design controls, verification and validation processes, and product development lifecycles.
β’ Preferred: Record of publication, patents, or demonstrated innovation.
