Senior Algorithm Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Create and implement scalable algorithms: Develop solutions for forecasting, pricing, and optimization that excel across extensive and intricate data sets.

• Direct technical strategy: Steer architectural and design choices for processing high-volume data, ensuring precision, clarity, and dependability in production.

• Collaborate and mentor: Partner closely with Product, Data, and Delivery teams to convert business and market needs into effective solutions, while guiding colleagues through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

• Enhance and advance systems: Boost the robustness, performance, and scalability of models, workflows, and distributed systems; contribute reusable components that elevate the standard for algorithmic excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience: Practical experience in designing, developing, and deploying algorithms or data models (e.g., forecasting, pricing, optimization) in live environments.

• Technical proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Python and the modern data stack (e.g., SQL, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Dask, Polars, DuckDB, PySpark).

• Data fluency: Experience with large-scale or high-frequency data sources such as smart meter, weather, or IoT data.

• Leadership and collaboration: Effective communicator who influences design decisions, fosters alignment, and mentors others through documentation and peer collaboration.

• Curiosity for energy and impact: Background in SaaS or software environments; experience in the energy sector or a strong desire to learn is advantageous.
