This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage in and spearhead the complete lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithm development for medical devices, encompassing specifications and requirements gathering, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.
• Choose, implement, and develop suitable methods for each challenge, including identifying when deep learning or alternative techniques are most effective.
• Enhance internal deep learning and machine learning tools to boost team efficiency, introduce innovative model architectures and algorithmic techniques, and refine code for reusability and rapid experimentation.
• Elevate engineering best practices to ensure that algorithm implementations are user-friendly, well-documented, and thoroughly tested, including unit tests, continuous integration, and non-regression testing.
• Present findings to key stakeholders and facilitate algorithm utilization for client engagement.
• Support client-facing initiatives and contribute to shaping the influence of Beacon algorithms for customers and future algorithm development.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly within health sciences or other regulated industries.
• Demonstrated success in bringing algorithms to production.
• Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistical methods.
• Expertise in PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks for training, developing, and deploying deep learning models.
• Knowledge of current advancements in deep learning, including Transformers, ViT, large-scale modeling, and large-model training.
• Strong adherence to best practices in software and machine learning engineering, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.
• Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets, or a keen interest in learning about the domain.
• Capability to collaborate in a team setting with open communication and continuous feedback.
• Aptitude for explaining and presenting complex technical topics clearly to both internal and external audiences.
• Eagerness to engage in the entire algorithm development lifecycle, including scoping, data wrangling, experimentation, formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, production deployment, and client collaboration.
