This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Define and uphold the reference architecture for enterprise AI applications, which encompasses agent patterns, RAG pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and innovation environments hosted on enterprise-provisioned cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate to establish and communicate the MCP-based integration strategy, including promotion criteria, approved patterns, and lifecycle standards for AI-connected services.
• Take ownership of the architectural blueprint detailing how AI capabilities are composed, exposed, and operationalized.
• Promote AI FinOps best practices by crafting cost-effective LLM integration patterns, optimizing token utilization, employing caching strategies, and managing compute resources across cloud environments in collaboration with IT Operations.
• Lead technical evaluations of "Build vs. Buy" for AI capabilities, delineating the architectural integration patterns for third-party AI SaaS tools versus internally hosted models.
• Contribute to the end-to-end AI developer experience by creating golden paths, CI/CD templates, reference repositories, prompt libraries, and evaluation frameworks.
• Ensure that well-architected AI solutions represent the path of least resistance, minimizing friction for teams adopting AI-native patterns.
• Prevent Digital Innovation from devolving into a series of bespoke, fragile implementations by establishing reusable, composable building blocks.
• Oversee the technical execution of rapid Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate emerging AI frameworks and architectural patterns prior to handoff to IT Operations or enterprise-wide adoption.
• Collaborate with core cloud platform and data & analytics teams as a peer and partner, influencing AI-layer decisions without managing the underlying infrastructure.
• Act as the primary liaison between Digital Innovation and Security, IT Operations, and Compliance teams, translating the needs of AI applications into governance-compliant designs.
• Design solutions that strictly conform to healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST), ensuring the secure handling, anonymization, and encryption of Protected Health Information (PHI) within AI workflows.
• Set technical guardrails for AI Governance, encompassing mechanisms for model explainability, hallucination mitigation, and algorithmic bias detection.
• Partner with senior leadership to align AI application investments with organizational strategy and enterprise risk posture.
• Serve as a technical authority across AI domains including LLM integration, agentic systems, vector search, model evaluation, and AI observability.
• Mentor engineers and architects in AI-native design patterns, responsible AI practices, and reusable/composable methodologies.
• An accredited degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, demonstrating a progression into architecture or platform-related roles.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, including LLM integration, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows.
• Extensive knowledge of AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen) and emerging agent interoperability standards such as MCP.
• Strong familiarity with vector databases and semantic search technologies (e.g., Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate, Azure AI Search).
• Experience in designing and publishing reusable engineering patterns, reference architectures, and golden-path templates at an enterprise level.
• Strong multi-cloud fluency with GCP, AWS, and Azure, particularly in AI/ML platform services (Vertex AI (Google Enterprise), Bedrock, Azure OpenAI).
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and platform engineering principles.
• Experience collaborating with Security, IT Operations, and Compliance stakeholders to translate architectural decisions into governance-compliant implementations that handle sensitive data (HIPAA/PHI).
• Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
• Health/Vision/Dental benefits effective from day one.
• 401(k) retirement plan with a company match – dollar for dollar up to a 4% employee contribution (pretax or Roth options) plus a 6% annual company contribution.
• Comprehensive employee well-being program.
• Paid Time Off.
• Personal Community Enrichment Time.
• Company-provided Basic Life and AD&D insurance.
• Company-provided Short-Term & Long-Term Disability coverage.
