Senior AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design AI agents that carry out dependable multi-step workflows through reasoning, tool usage, and decision-making.

• Create, develop, and implement MCP servers for external SaaS integrations and internal tools at Placer.ai.

• Establish secure OAuth and credential-management systems for connector authentication.

• Set and enforce production-readiness criteria for MCP servers, which include security measures, Kubernetes deployment, logging, and access controls.

• Assess connector requests and bug reports, identifying critical rollout tasks versus backlog items.

• Develop and sustain Cowork plugins and Claude skills for Marketing, Operations, Data, and other workflows.

• Streamline manual and repetitive tasks through automation with Claude.

• Oversee and enhance Placer.ai’s internal Databricks BI environment, focusing on data restructuring and ingestion processes.

• Create tools to monitor internal AI utilization, adoption, and high-impact use cases.

• Optimize computing, storage, networking, performance, and costs within the internal AI platform.

• Apply security practices to the AI platform, including identity management, encryption, and compliance monitoring.

• Collaborate with teams across AI Operations, R&D, Data Science, GTM, and others.

• Report to the COO and manage the entire process from integration request to a production-ready system.

• Assist in establishing triage and review processes to enable safe self-service throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in backend engineering.

• Previous experience with MCP servers, LLM tools, or AI agent frameworks.

• Background in data engineering or analytics tools.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and credential management.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud authentication patterns, such as gcloud and service accounts.

• Experience in building and deploying services on Kubernetes or similar container infrastructures.

• Knowledge of Databricks or comparable data warehouses/data lakes is advantageous.

• Ability to work in an unstructured environment and adapt as role definitions, standards, and tools evolve.

• Excellent communication skills for converting business needs into engineering specifications.

• Capacity to manage competing priorities among R&D Architecture, AI Enablement, and business teams.

• Proven experience with AI tools and a curiosity to explore their innovative applications.

• Willingness to integrate generative AI into daily operations.
