This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise AI software development projects that support VA healthcare initiatives.
• Create and manage comprehensive project schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource allocation plans, and roadmaps, ensuring integration of clinical validation, governance, security, and approval dependencies.
• Administer project scope, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests, including decisions that necessitate Government approval.
• Ensure that project execution is in alignment with contractual obligations, business priorities, and delivery goals.
• Provide leadership that fosters collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among multidisciplinary teams.
• Direct the delivery of Generative AI solutions employing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Facilitate coordination among Government stakeholders, clinicians, architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, privacy and AI governance stakeholders, and product owners.
• Lead discovery sessions, validate requirements, conduct solution demonstrations, and gather clinical feedback.
• Oversee AI governance, Responsible AI initiatives, Human-in-the-Loop (HITL), security, privacy, and clinical validation activities.
• Ensure that AI functionalities are compatible with clinical workflows, business objectives, and the approved MVP scope, establishing measurable acceptance criteria for quality, source traceability, clinical relevance, latency, and clinician input.
• Provide oversight of delivery across Agile teams, ensuring alignment of sprint plans, dependencies, milestones, and release outcomes with the project roadmap.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to facilitate Agile planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Track sprint progress, delivery metrics, and readiness for release.
• Manage the resolution of cross-team impediments that require Government, security, governance, clinical, or architectural decisions.
• Coordinate the readiness of test environments, clinical evaluations, and future transition planning with Government stakeholders.
• Monitor project risks, technical dependencies, and scheduling impacts while formulating mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate activities related to Federal cybersecurity, privacy, AI governance, clinical validation, and Authority to Operate (ATO) planning.
• Ensure adherence to relevant VA Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), security, and operational requirements.
• Support project reporting, audit readiness, governance preparedness, and executive decision-making through precise documentation and status updates.
• Prepare executive briefings, project status reports, dashboards, and updates on milestones.
• Present project progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to executive leadership and Government clients.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and collaboration.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience leading enterprise software development projects.
• At least 5 years of experience managing Agile software development teams that deliver cloud-based applications.
• Proven experience in leading Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI capabilities through their development, evaluation, and formal approval processes.
• Experience in delivering AWS cloud applications using Amazon Bedrock or similar AI platforms.
• Background in leading cross-functional teams within regulated healthcare or Federal environments.
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) delivery lifecycles.
• Proficiency in Amazon Bedrock and AWS AI services.
• Expertise in prompt engineering, source grounding, hallucination testing, human validation, and AI evaluation methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud architecture and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with REST APIs and enterprise system integration.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, CCD).
