Senior AI Engineer – Python, Agents

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee and improve current agents developed with LangChain/LangGraph, from design through execution.

• Create agent tools linked to the clinic’s business functions and integrate them with APIs and WhatsApp.

• Ensure the reliability of workflows, which includes maintaining persistent states across conversations, managing queues, retries, and handling failures.

• Assess agent performance, costs, and response times through evaluations, logs, and metrics.

• Act as the team's go-to technical AI expert and collaborate with the Product team for delivery planning.

• Maintain and advance agents that interact with patients and staff via WhatsApp, executing real business functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on experience in production with Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic.

• Familiarity with LangChain and LangGraph, or another agent framework, along with a readiness to work with LangGraph.

• Experience in integrating LLMs into practical applications, including tool invocation, structured outputs, and RAG.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Automated testing experience with Pytest and adherence to sound practices such as Clean Architecture.

• Knowledge of asynchronous processing, which includes queues, webhooks, or messaging.

• Experience with LLM evaluations (evals) and tools like Langfuse or LangSmith.

• Familiarity with WhatsApp Cloud API or an official provider (BSP).

• Proficient in Docker and AWS (ECS/Fargate, SQS, Bedrock).

• Understanding of security in LLM applications, including prompt injection and data exposure, and awareness of Brazil’s LGPD.

• Experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles.

• Background in healthcare or clinical environments.

• A proactive ownership mindset to address challenges beyond coding.

• Humility to teach, learn, and seek assistance when needed.
