This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with legal stakeholders to convert workflows into technical solutions.
• Engage in discovery sessions with attorneys and compliance experts throughout Danaher to comprehend their workflows, pinpoint automation possibilities, and deliver solutions that legal teams trust and implement.
• Design and build AI-driven legal applications.
• Create comprehensive solutions for contract review, legal research, regulatory analysis, and compliance workflows utilizing LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI frameworks.
• Develop and enhance document processing pipelines.
• Construct scalable systems for ingestion, parsing, chunking, embedding, and indexing of legal content (contracts, playbooks, regulatory filings) to facilitate intelligent search and analysis.
• Deliver production-quality AI features.
• Write clean, well-tested code (Python and/or TypeScript) to produce production applications using LLM APIs, orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex), and CI/CD pipelines — from prototype to deployment and monitoring.
• Establish evaluation and quality frameworks.
• Create automated evaluation pipelines, test sets, and quality metrics tailored to legal AI outputs, ensuring precision, consistency, and defensibility of AI-generated work products.
• Integrate governance and security from the ground up — Implement data security measures, access controls, audit logging, PII redaction, and data residency compliance for applications managing sensitive and confidential legal content.
• Apply product thinking to legal AI solutions — Grasp user needs through discovery and feedback, convert them into clear product and technical requirements, and aid in prioritizing features that enhance adoption and deliver measurable business value.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship - Guide, educate, and mentor legal team members in creating no-code AI solutions.
• Act as the technical liaison between legal and engineering teams.
• Communicate effectively across disciplines, deliver demonstrations and training to legal users, and relay user insights back into product development and roadmap priorities.
• Collaborate closely with IT, Data & AI teams to design, build, and deliver scalable AI solutions that align with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's or advanced degree is an advantage).
• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science, or machine learning engineering, with a proven record of delivering production applications.
• Production experience with large language models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG architecture, agent/tool-use development, and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or similar orchestration tools); proficiency in an additional language (TypeScript, Java) is a bonus.
• AI-Assisted Software Development – Proven ability to leverage AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to expedite software solution development in production settings.
• Practical experience with modern AI infrastructure, including vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), API design, and containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in designing data pipelines and document processing systems for unstructured content at scale (parsing, OCR, entity extraction, classification).
• Demonstrated interest or experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory sectors — such as prior work in legal tech, contract analytics, regulatory technology, legal operations, paralegal experience, law school coursework, or JD.
