Senior AI Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design the upcoming generation of intelligent enterprise applications

• Oversee the development and execution of autonomous AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning

• Incorporate commercial large language models into enterprise applications using robust RESTful APIs

• Establish crucial reliability measures for AI systems

• Create, test, and manage complex prompts to guarantee deterministic and accurate outputs from models

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

• At least 8 years of pertinent professional engineering experience

• Demonstrated history as a Java Developer, with extensive expertise in designing scalable backend microservices

• Practical programming experience with Java 17, Java 21+, and the Spring Boot framework

• In-depth knowledge of agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangChain4j, or Spring AI

• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, prompt optimization, and LLM fine-tuning for production use

• Background in building, maintaining, and integrating robust RESTful APIs

• Outstanding technical writing abilities for documenting architectures, APIs, and creating thorough developer guides

• Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken) to facilitate daily team collaboration.
