Senior AI Engineer – CCC Casualty, Claims Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of AI agents throughout their lifecycle within a specific problem area, from initial prototyping to tracking performance in a production environment.

• Develop AI-focused products for the auto casualty sector, with a particular emphasis on the injury aspects of auto claims.

• Create and implement LLM-powered agents and workflows that involve orchestration, tool utilization, retrieval, structured extraction, and human-in-the-loop review processes.

• Collaborate with data labelers and subject matter experts to conduct evaluations, ensuring they are applied to every modification.

• Enhance agents to be production-ready by implementing guardrails, ensuring observability, optimizing for cost and latency, and managing sensitive health data with care.

• Deliver measurable enhancements to current agents.

• Roll out agents to production alongside customers, supported by evaluation outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally, 5+ years of professional experience in software or ML engineering, including significant recent work with LLMs.

• Proficient production engineering skills in Python, including experience with API services, and familiarity with TypeScript.

• A minimum of one year of experience in delivering LLM-powered products to actual users, incorporating retrieval methods (RAG, embeddings, vector search) and prompt engineering.

• Expertise in designing evaluations for non-deterministic systems, with a consistent practice of measuring outcomes before and after each change.

• Possess a quantitative mindset: comfortable with metrics, sampling, error analysis, and discerning when a result is valid.

• Proven experience in accelerating shipping processes using AI-assisted or agentic engineering tools, with specific examples to discuss.

• Preferred: Familiarity with document understanding, OCR, or extraction from complex documents.

• Preferred: Experience in fine-tuning LLMs or working with multimodal data.

• A video interview is mandatory for this role.
