Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain APIs that incorporate generative AI models into production environments, emphasizing scalability and low latency.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to pinpoint generative AI use cases, establish requirements, and contribute to significant solutions.

• Optimize workflows for model inference utilizing large-scale pre-trained models.

• Assist in the generative AI model pipeline, ensuring effective monitoring and ongoing performance evaluation.

• Execute experiments to assess generative AI models against practical performance metrics such as fluency, coherence, and factual accuracy.

• Keep abreast of developments in generative AI research and aid in integrating new methodologies into the organization’s capabilities.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of generative AI systems during deployment.

• Record processes, architectures, and technical choices to enhance collaboration and facilitate future improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in ML/AI engineering, with a focus on contributing to generative AI products.

• Proficient in LLM design patterns, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and familiar with broader search and retrieval systems such as vector search, semantic search, and document indexing.

• Strong understanding of large language model (LLM) fundamentals, including prompt engineering, AI feature evaluation, and experience with vector databases.

• Experience with Vertex AI or comparable managed AI platforms.

• Practical experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, including dataset management, recall testing, and LLM-as-judge methodologies.

• Familiarity with experiment tracking tools like Weights & Biases.

• Working knowledge of MLOps practices, including deployment, model monitoring, and CI/CD workflows.

• Strong skills in problem-solving, system design, and technology decision-making.

• Some experience in application development, such as contributing to or creating basic software applications.

• Proficient in Node.js and/or TypeScript, especially in developing or maintaining API services.

• Experience in designing and versioning REST APIs.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and JSONB usage.
