Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• The reusable accelerator core along with the multi-agent workflows that are developed on it.

• Design of agents encompassing coding, planning, review, and testing, integrating tool-calling and human-in-the-loop where it is warranted.

• The evaluation pipelines and telemetry that facilitate the measurement of quality and the visibility of regressions.

• Focus on reliability, cost management, and observability for agentic systems in practical applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience as an AI Engineer or in a related position.

• Strong expertise in production software engineering: Python, testing, packaging, CI/CD, asynchronous programming, REST, Docker. You develop products, not just scripts.

• Significant experience in LLM application engineering: prompt design, function calling, structured outputs, RAG, vector stores, utilizing the Anthropic and OpenAI APIs.

• Evaluation-driven development should be a fundamental practice, not merely an afterthought. You regard evaluations as the ultimate source of truth.

• Proven experience in building agentic systems from start to finish: systems that can plan, write code, validate their own outputs, and enhance over time.

• Familiarity with the orchestration landscape (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI) and a clear perspective on when a custom lightweight harness is more beneficial than a framework.

• Proficient with at least one cloud data platform and SQL: adequate to construct evaluation and verification infrastructure that your applied-data counterpart will populate with domain-specific rules. You don’t need to be the foremost data expert in the room.
