AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy features across the GovPilot, SDL, and Hedgerow codebases, adapting to new languages and frameworks as required by the tasks.

• Create and implement systems and workflows that enable AI agents to operate at scale while maintaining safety and quality standards.

• Manage your own email, calendar, and task organization with a significant level of independence; you won't receive a detailed plan.

• Suggest and experiment with innovative working methods that extend beyond conventional agile or sprint-based development.

• Establish guardrails, evaluations, and review processes to ensure AI-generated outputs can be trusted and delivered promptly.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to define the vision for our development lifecycle for the next year and begin working towards it now.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar), utilizing them as a primary resource rather than a sporadic aid.

• Ability to navigate various programming languages and stacks without requiring additional ramp-up time.

• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision: you determine your priorities and follow through effectively.

• Strong instincts regarding what can be trusted to operate autonomously, along with the discernment to establish necessary guardrails.

• A genuine interest in how AI transforms software development, viewing it not merely as a productivity enhancement but as a fundamentally different approach to working.

• Must reside in and have authorization to work in the United States.
