This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.
• Design, develop, and manage AI systems that address real business challenges within Finom.
• Transition seamlessly from prototypes to production: defining solutions, constructing systems, assessing quality, and enhancing them over time.
• Contribute to high-impact projects related to onboarding, customer support, AI accounting, fraud detection and risk management workflows, document comprehension, internal automation, and agentic systems utilized by various teams.
• Provide production-ready AI functionalities that deliver tangible value for both customers and the business.
• A proficient software engineer with extensive Python knowledge and a proven history of deploying production systems.
• Comfortable throughout the entire lifecycle: prompting, retrieval, experimentation, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing production support.
• Skilled in transforming vague business challenges into robust technical solutions.
• Product-oriented and focused on actual user outcomes rather than merely model outputs.
• Independent, practical, and capable of maintaining momentum without extensive oversight.
• Effective communicator and comfortable collaborating across various functions.
• Inquisitive, proactive, low-ego, and action-oriented.
• Someone who actively stays updated with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and can distinguish between hype and genuinely useful advancements.
• Proven experience in constructing and deploying AI systems in production settings.
• Strong foundation in Python and software engineering principles.
• Practical experience with LLM applications, including but not limited to: RAG, tool utilization, agents, prompt engineering, evaluations, structured outputs, guardrails, or fine-tuning.
• Experience integrating AI systems into backend or product workflows.
• Ability to create meaningful evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement cycles.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerized deployments.
• Strong sense of ownership and capability to navigate ambiguity.
• Actively experiments with innovative AI models, tools, and agentic patterns, and can assess which methods are worthy of production.
• Solid understanding of the fast-paced AI landscape, with the capacity to translate relevant advancements into actionable product and engineering decisions.
