This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI agents and tools aimed at optimizing clinical decision-making, automating intricate administrative tasks, and improving clinical workflows.
• Investigate and execute the complete stack architecture necessary for AI-agentic systems, encompassing context engineering, MCP servers, and API design and deployment.
• Design and construct resilient, scalable backend services and integrations (utilizing Python, Java Spring Boot, SQL) that form the backbone of our AI applications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define the user experience of AI systems, converting clinical and operational requirements into detailed technical specifications and prototypes.
• Advocate for best practices in developing reliable, secure, and scalable AI applications, ensuring compliance with standards such as HIPAA.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineers, promoting cross-functional thinking and enhancing the team’s capabilities in developing AI-driven products.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of AI systems in production to accommodate rapid growth and guarantee a smooth user experience.
• Assume additional responsibilities as required, including participation in on-call rotations.
• Regularly travel to our Menlo Park headquarters for planning workshops and team collaboration sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a solid background in building backend services.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying AI-enhanced applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Claude, or Gemini.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and other methodologies for constructing reliable LLM-based systems.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python, along with experience in developing microservices.
• Practical experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated capability to work across various disciplines, effectively collaborating with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders to create user-centric solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from inception to completion.
• Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related industries is a plus but not mandatory.
• This is a remote position based in the U.S. Applicants must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
