Web Application Firewall Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Integrate security measures throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Conduct web application vulnerability assessments, provide penetration support, and engage in threat modeling activities.

• Recognize, prioritize, and address application security vulnerabilities.

• Establish secure coding standards that comply with OWASP Top 10 and industry best practices.

• Set up and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and application security controls, particularly using Barracuda WAF.

• Monitor application logs and examine security events impacting web applications and APIs.

• Work collaboratively with software developers and DevOps engineers to enhance the application security posture.

• Create security documentation, technical recommendations, and remediation guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in Application Security (AppSec), Web Application Security, or Product Security.

• In-depth understanding of secure software development practices and Secure SDLC.

• Familiarity with conducting vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and application security testing.

• Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, common web application vulnerabilities, and their remediation techniques.

• Experience in implementing or supporting Web Application Firewalls (WAF).

• Proficiency in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps environments.
